The Interior Design Brief

To create a relaxing space for Christopher and Emma to enjoy on their own and with friends, reminiscent of weekends away in snug country hotels.

The design of this room was based on a lovely weekend away that Christopher and Emma had had in a boutique hotel in North Wales and wanted to recreate this in their home. Keeping the lounge as a ‘retreat’ room meant they could really be bold with the choices of colours and fabrics which are just perfect for an evening relaxing on their own, or when entertaining friends.

Previously the room was a little bare and open and Emma hated the wallpaper so was keen to start again! Using a colour palette of deep taupes and browns, with darker woodwork to add even more depth to the scheme, the room was totally transformed. Colour is added to the room through the bright upholstery, in deep blues and purples, which are simply stunning.

The awkward bay window shape turned in to a full functional bookcase, with long curtains and blinds to frame the window space brilliantly.

3 large scale canvasses add a really vibrant, modern edge to the room!

All topped off with the piece de resistance, their very own bespoke bar cabinet we designed and commissioned for them – perfect for an evening tipple!
