Vicki and Dave’s Kitchen

A brand new kitchen area together with a family space for everyone to hang out in. The family needed more storage and a space that was going to grow with them as the children got older.

The Interior Design Brief

Aside from storage and space, the room needed opening up. The dining area was an extension of the kitchen area and they wanted it to feel more like one big room. The house had beautiful views across the valley that needed to be made the best of. They also wanted a warm country style kitchen, together with a big range oven, and an area that was great for socialising.

What did we do?

Firstly we looked at the space to really maximize what we could do. We had to make some fundamental changes to the room (including removing a wall section and relocating a boiler) so that we could open up the space and create a stunning focal point with the beautiful range.

The kitchen was designed to flow all around the room but not be too intrusive. We laid underfloor heating and then created a bespoke wood flooring finish to really warm the room which was distressed to work with the country look of the kitchen.

To maximize the view, we designed a huge window seat, with inbuilt storage underneath (as you can see it gets used quickly!) and topped with cushions for laying and relaxing on – which was great for their young children!
